SUMMARY: An experienced SENIOR PHARMACIST is required for permanent employment based in the Amajuba district.

POSITION INFO: Title: Senior Pharmacist Area: Amajuba district (NKZN) Industry: Pharma Health Care Ref No.: TRG 2506 Salary: Market related TCTC available/negotiable (TBC) Start Date: As soon as possible / Negotiable Type: Permanent An experienced SENIOR PHARMACIST is required for permanent employment based in the Amajuba district. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day dispensary operations, ensure full compliance with SAPC regulations, and deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care and customer service within a community-focused retail environment. This role requires a strong clinical foundation combined with excellent retail pharmacy operational experience and a hands-on leadership approach. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Dispensing & Patient Care Accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions in accordance with SAPC guidelines. Provide patient counselling, guidance, and after-care support with empathy and professionalism. Uphold ethical pharmaceutical practices and safeguard patient confidentiality. Stock & Inventory Control Manage ordering, receiving, and control of Schedule drugs and other pharmaceutical products. Conduct regular stock counts and maintain inventory accuracy. Oversee expiry management, temperature monitoring, and cold-chain compliance. Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and relevant legislation. Maintain complete and up-to-date data books , QCPs , and internal quality records. Comply with all SAPC , SAHPRA , and DOH requirements and audits. Remain compliant with CPD requirements and professional development standards. Administration & Systems Operate effectively on the Unisolv system for dispensing, claims submission, and stock management. Apply relevant ICD-10 codes accurately for medical aid and patient billing purposes. Maintain accurate patient and script records in line with pharmacy regulations. Operational Support Assist the Responsible Pharmacist when required, including acting as locum during leave or peak periods. Work collaboratively with dispensary staff, assistants, and front-shop personnel to ensure efficient daily operation. Supervise support staff in line with SAPC scope and ensure effective teamwork. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm / equivalent) - Essential. Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) - in good standing. + Min 3-5 years exp. as a Senior Pharmacist level req. + Min 3 years within a retail pharmacy environment req. (NOT Hospital or similar) Strong knowledge of dispensing systems (e.g. Unisolv or similar) Sound working knowledge of ICD-10 coding and claims submission.
