Role Description The Senior Physiotherapist is a full-time, on-site role based at Singapore Cheshire Home in Singapore. This role involves assessing residents’ and day clients’ physical and functional status, developing individualized physiotherapy care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall independence. The Senior Physiotherapist will supervise and mentor junior therapists and therapy assistants, coordinate multidisciplinary care with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, and contribute to case discussions and family conferences. Daily responsibilities include conducting therapy sessions, monitoring progress, updating clinical documentation, and participating in quality improvement initiatives and service development. The role also includes educating residents, caregivers, and volunteers on safe mobility and exercise, supporting community and social activities from a rehabilitation perspective, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards in line with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Qualifications

• Professional physiotherapy expertise, including assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence-based interventions for adults with neurological and physical disabilities.
• Experience in neurological rehabilitation (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s, muscular dystrophy), geriatric rehabilitation, and long-term care or community-based rehabilitation settings.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including supervision and mentoring of junior staff, collaboration within multidisciplinary teams, and participation in service development and quality improvement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, caregivers, volunteers, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Good organizational and documentation skills, including timely clinical record-keeping and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
• Recognized degree in Physiotherapy and full registration, or eligibility for registration, with the relevant professional and regulatory bodies in Singapore.
• Commitment to person-centered care, respect for diversity, and adherence to ethical and professional standards in rehabilitation practice.
• Prior experience in an Adult Disability Home or similar setting, and familiarity with assistive devices, mobility aids, and falls prevention strategies, will be an advantage
