SENIOR PILING ENGINEER

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Piling Engineer to join our team for a prestigious railway construction project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all piling-related activities, ensuring that piling operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and regulatory standards. The Piling Engineer will work closely with the project management team, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver a high-quality and cost-effective solution for the railway infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Piling Design and Planning: Review and evaluate piling designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and geotechnical specifications. Collaborate with the design team to develop detailed piling plans for foundations and structural supports for railway tracks, stations, and other related infrastructure.
• Site Supervision: Oversee piling operations on-site, ensuring that piling works are carried out according to the approved design, schedule, and quality standards. Monitor the work of subcontractors and piling contractors, providing guidance and technical support as needed.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all piling works comply with local regulations, industry standards, and project-specific requirements. Conduct inspections and testing of piles, including integrity testing, and ensure proper documentation of results.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Enforce strict adherence to HSE guidelines to ensure safe working conditions during piling operations. Conduct regular safety meetings and risk assessments for the piling team to minimize accidents and disruptions.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers, civil engineers, structural engineers, and other key stakeholders to address technical challenges related to piling works. Ensure clear and timely communication regarding progress, potential issues, and solutions.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit regular reports on piling progress, performance, and any deviations from the planned schedule or budget. Maintain detailed records of all piling activities, test results, and site inspections.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve any technical issues that arise during piling operations, providing innovative solutions to overcome obstacles while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or additional certifications in piling or foundation engineering is a plus. Licensed Civil Engineer
• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of hands-on experience in piling and foundation engineering, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in railway construction.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of piling techniques (e.g., bored piles, driven piles, micropiles), soil mechanics, geotechnical investigations, and foundation design. Familiarity with railway-specific piling requirements is an advantage.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Geo5, and other related piling and geotechnical analysis tools.
• Health & Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of HSE regulations and standards, with proven experience in implementing safety protocols on construction sites.
• Leadership and Teamwork: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage subcontractors.
