Job Purpose:

The Pricing Senior Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic pricing decisions by analyzing markdown strategies to optimize sales, margin, and inventory productivity. This role involves reviewing historical performance, evaluating pricing effectiveness, and identifying opportunities for improved profitability through data-driven markdown recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze sales, margin, and inventory data to inform and execute markdown recommendations across multiple departments.
• Evaluate effectiveness of current markdown strategies and identify opportunities to improve profitability and sell-through.
• Partner with Planning, Pricing, and Merchandising teams to ensure pricing aligns with financial goals.
• Analyze SKU, style, and category-level markdown performance to inform future recommendations.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports on markdown performance and effectiveness.
• Recommend markdown cadence and depth based on seasonal trends, inventory levels, and product life cycles.
• Identify underperforming products and recommend timely markdown actions to minimize inventory risk.
• Monitor competitive pricing trends and incorporate insights into markdown planning.
• Support system automation and enhancements related to markdown execution and reporting.
• Present insights and recommendations clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership.
• Participate in post-season hindsight reviews to assess markdown impact and guide future planning.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

• 4 to 6 years of experience in retail environment, preferably in Pricing, Planning, or Allocation.

• Critical thinking, Problem Solving, Decision-making and an Understanding of retail KPIs.

• Business planning and financial analysis, Pricing Planning, Buying, Merchandising, Inventory Control and Supply Chain knowledge

• Proficiency in SAS or other Pricing operating system

• Experience with Microstrategy Planning & Reporting tools a plus

• Proficiency in intermediate to advanced excel.
