Senior Planning Engineer

• Develop and maintain baseline programmes, detailed project schedules, and master schedules in coordination with project requirements.
• Prepare and update project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or other planning tools.
• Establish project WBS, activities, sequencing, logic, durations, resources, and milestones.
• Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline and identify delays, slippages, and critical activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, and other planning reports for management.
• Conduct critical path analysis and identify potential delays and their impact on project completion.
• Review contractors' and subcontractors' programmes and ensure alignment with the approved master programme.
• Analyse schedule performance and develop recovery programmes, mitigation plans, and acceleration strategies where required.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, procurement, commercial, design, and construction teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Track engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities against planned dates.
• Monitor procurement and material delivery schedules and assess their impact on project milestones.
• Analyse Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay events, and programme impacts, providing planning input to the commercial/claims team.
• Maintain accurate records of baseline changes, programme updates, progress, delays, and schedule revisions.
• Prepare look-ahead programmes and coordinate with site teams to ensure planned activities are achieved.
• Identify schedule risks and provide early warnings and recommendations to project management.
• Participate in progress meetings with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders and provide clear updates on programme status and key risks.
• Ensure effective integration of design, procurement, construction, and handover schedules.
• Review planned versus actual manpower, productivity, and resource requirements and highlight potential impacts on project completion.
• Support project management in developing project execution strategies and delivery timelines.
• Lead and mentor junior planning engineers and ensure consistent planning and reporting practices across the project.
• Ensure planning activities comply with project procedures, contractual requirements, and company standards.
• Support the successful delivery of large-scale villa/horizontal development projects within the UAE, ensuring projects are delivered within the approved schedule.

• Experience working on projects with a value exceeding AED 500 million.
• Experience on projects in Sharjah is preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. 10–12 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 6 years of UAE experience in project planning.
3. Proven experience in large-scale villa/horizontal development projects within the UAE.
4. Experience working on projects with a value exceeding AED 500 million.
5. Strong hands-on expertise in Primavera P6 and construction planning methodologies.
6. Strong knowledge of baseline programme development, progress monitoring, critical path analysis, recovery programmes, and schedule control.
7. Proven experience in delay analysis, EOT assessments, and programme impact analysis.
8. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement, engineering, and project execution activities.
9. Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, project managers, commercial teams, and other stakeholders.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation measures.
11. Excellent skills in progress reporting, dashboards, S-curves, look-ahead programmes, and management reporting.
12. Sharjah project experience will be an advantage.
13. Previous experience with Arada is highly preferred.
14. Strong communication, coordination, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
15. Ability to work independently and effectively manage planning requirements for complex, fast-paced projects.
16. Candidates with strong UAE-based project delivery experience and a proven track record of completing projects on schedule will be preferred.
