Job Description

World Legend Contracting L.L.C. is seeking a highly experienced and technically competent Senior Planning Engineer to join our construction team in Dubai.

The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling high-rise residential and commercial building projects within the UAE.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing project schedules, monitoring progress, identifying delays, preparing recovery plans, and ensuring projects are delivered within contractual timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, prepare, and maintain detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare project execution schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity relationships, milestones, and critical paths.
• Develop resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
• Prepare detailed weekly, monthly, and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure schedules reflect actual site conditions and construction sequences.

2. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor actual progress against approved baseline schedules.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management, consultants, and clients.
• Analyze planned versus actual progress and identify deviations.
• Prepare S-curves, manpower histograms, productivity reports, and progress dashboards.
• Monitor engineering submissions, material approvals, procurement activities, and construction progress.
• Provide accurate project completion forecasts.

3. Delay Analysis & Extension of Time (EOT)

• Identify and analyze project delays and their impact on the critical path.
• Prepare delay analysis reports and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
• Maintain accurate records of delays, disruptions, and project events.
• Coordinate with commercial and contractual teams regarding delay-related claims.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and other recognized delay analysis methodologies.

4. Recovery Planning & Project Control

• Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans for delayed activities.
• Identify critical activities and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor progress and evaluate their performance against agreed schedules.
• Coordinate with construction managers, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve scheduling issues.
• Assess the impact of design changes, variations, and procurement delays on project timelines.

5. Coordination & Management Reporting

• Attend progress meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare planning presentations and progress updates for senior management.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial, and construction departments.
• Review subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the master project schedule.
• Support management in identifying project risks and improving overall project performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction planning and project controls.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE construction experience preferred.
• Proven experience working with a main contracting company in the UAE.
• Strong experience in high-rise residential and commercial building projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (Mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of baseline schedules, recovery programs, and resource-loaded schedules.
• Proven experience in delay analysis and preparation of EOT claims.
• Good understanding of FIDIC contracts and contractual project timelines.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in MS Project.
• Experience preparing progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms, and project dashboards.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple planning activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with high-rise projects exceeding 30 floors.
• Experience managing planning activities from project commencement through handover.
• Familiarity with Power BI and advanced project reporting tools.
• Experience preparing and defending EOT submissions before consultants and clients.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, productivity analysis, and resource optimization.
