What they need
Framework Fashion is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client, a highly successful contemporary apparel brand headquartered in Los Angeles, with a strong presence across men's and women's, wholesale and DTC. The company is fast-moving, hands-on, and scaling. Company details will be shared with qualified candidates as the process progresses.
We're looking for a Planning Manager to own financial and merchandise planning across men's and women's. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Sales, DTC, and Finance to build sales, inventory, and OTB plans in collaboration with buying that support the seasonal buy, and to keep those plans accurate and actionable as the business moves in-season.
This is a highly analytical, detail-driven role for someone who can move fluidly between big-picture forecasting and the granular, style-level numbers that make a plan work.
Responsibilities:
- Build and own seasonal and annual financial plans (sales, margin, inventory, receipt flow) by category and channel
- Develop top-down and bottom-up plans in partnership with Merchandising/Buyinh and reconcile the two into a single seasonal plan
- Own open-to-buy management across categories, channels, and doors, tracking against plan throughout the season
- Build size curve and pack analyses in partnership with Merchandising to inform buy quantities
- Forecast sales, inventory, and receipts at the style and category level
- Own allocation strategy across DTC and wholesale, ensuring inventory is positioned to maximize sell-through
- Monitor inventory health (aging, coverage, sell-through) and recommend markdown or reorder action
- Build and maintain reporting tools and dashboards that give leadership real-time visibility into sales, margin, and inventory performance
- Deliver regular business reviews (weekly, monthly, seasonal) with clear, actionable insight - not just data
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, revenue forecasting, and monthly/quarterly reconciliation
- Work closely with the Head of Merchandising & Buying to align planning with seasonal buy and assortment strategy
- Partner with Sales on account-level and channel-level forecasts
- Provide planning input into new initiatives (new categories, channels, or doors) as the business scales
- May oversee a planner or planning analyst, depending on team structure
- Identify opportunities to improve planning tools, process, and forecasting accuracy
- Bring rigor and structure to planning without slowing down a fast-moving organization
Qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of planning experience at an apparel brand, ideally contemporary, with both men's and women's exposure
- Strong track record owning OTB, financial planning, and allocation at the category level
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning systems/tools a plus
- Sharp analytical instincts with the ability to translate numbers into clear recommendations for non-planning partners
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple categories and deadlines at once
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
- A collaborative operator who partners well with Merchandising, Sales, and Finance rather than working in a silo
Experience
- Proven experience in technical project management within urban planning or environmental consulting environments.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills managing multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects involving land use law in public permitting processes.
- Extensive knowledge of zoning regulations, land use law (including CEQA and NEPA), environmental permitting procedures, and local ordinances.
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD), graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite), GIS platforms (ArcView/ArcGIS), and 3D modeling software (SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D).
- Strong background in community planning, transportation planning, economic development initiatives, and construction processes.
- Excellent research capabilities combined with data analysis skills to inform strategic decision-making.
- Effective report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Prior experience in project scheduling tools and project management methodologies is highly desirable.
Benefits:
- Health Insurance
- Dental Insurance
- Vision Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Employee Assistance Program
- 401(K) Retirement Plan
- Paid-Time-Off (PTO)
