Senior Plantation Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior Plantation Manager who is capable of independently managing a 8,000-acre large-scale tree plantation operation at Kelantan. The successful candidate should be equally comfortable in the field and in management planning, with the ability to manage people, costs, productivity and plantation development ensuring reliable long-term plantation harvesting yield.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan, manage and oversee the overall plantation operations covering land preparation, planting, maintenance, fertilization, harvesting and replanting activities.
• Develop and implement annual and long-term plantation development, planting and harvesting programmes.
• Ensure plantation production and harvesting schedules are aligned with the expected harvesting requirements.
• Monitor plantation productivity, crop yield, survival rate and harvesting output, and implement improvement measures where required.
• Manage plantation manpower, supervisors, field workers, contractors and other service providers.
• Plan and control plantation operating costs, annual budgets, manpower requirements and utilization of machinery and equipment.
• Oversee plantation infrastructure including internal roads, drainage, irrigation/water management, storage areas and other supporting facilities.
• Manage plantation machinery, vehicles and equipment and ensure proper maintenance and utilization.
• Establish proper operational records and reporting covering planted area, crop age/profile, yield, harvesting volume, stock/inventory and cost of production.
• Monitor feedstock production cost and cost per ton and identify opportunities to improve productivity and operating efficiency.
• Coordinate harvesting, collection, storage and delivery of harvested to ensure reliable and continuous supply to the power plant.
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, safety, labour and plantation-related regulatory requirements.
• Implement good agricultural and plantation management practices, including pest, disease, weed and fire prevention/control.
• Prepare regular plantation operational and management reports for Management.
• Perform other plantation and feedstock-related duties as required by Management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Plantation Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Agronomy or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant plantation/estate managementexperience, in a managerial capacity.
• Candidates with proven experience managing a large-scale plantation of approximately 3,000 hectares or above will be preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of plantation establishment, crop maintenance, harvesting, manpower management and field operations.
• Experience in managing plantation budgets, contractors, machinery and large field workforce.
• Able to plan and manage plantation production against annual and monthly yield/tonnage targets.
• Strong understanding of plantation productivity, cost control and operational reporting.
• Experience in forestry plantation, fast-growing timber species or other feedstock plantations will be an added advantage.
• Candidates from established large-scale oil palm, forestry or commercial agricultural plantation operations with transferable management experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to field operations.
• Able to work independently and report directly to senior management.
• Willing to be based at and regularly work within the plantation site (Kelantan).
