Senior Platform Engineer

ALTSHIFT Partners is looking for a Platform Engineer to join as a contractor with a hybrid, full-time assignment. We expect candidates from Hungary only.

What you'll do:

🔹 Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based platforms and infrastructure solutions

🔹 Build, manage, and continuously improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks and automation

🔹 Develop and operate CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery

🔹 Ensure platform reliability, availability, and performance through monitoring, logging, and alerting

🔹 Implement security best practices — identity management, network security, compliance

🔹 Work closely with development teams to enable self-service capabilities

🔹 Optimize infrastructure and cloud services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency

🔹 Support containerized applications and orchestration platforms in production

🔹 Diagnose and resolve complex platform, infrastructure, and deployment issues

What we're looking for:

✅ Minimum 2 years in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or similar

✅ Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (or enterprise cloud application platforms)

✅ Strong IaC background (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or equivalent)

✅ Solid CI/CD experience with modern deployment pipelines

✅ Hands-on containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

✅ Good understanding of networking, security principles, and identity management

✅ Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)

✅ Strong analytical mindset with a focus on automation, scalability, and reliability

✅ Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Engagement details:

Location: Hungary, Budapest — hybrid, 2 days/week on-site

Type: Freelance / contractor, full-time

Duration: Initial contract until the end of December 2026. After the mandate ends, the client will employ the contractors.
