Senior Platform Engineer

Intact, the world's leading software solutions provider for the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (Identity, APIs and Integration) to build the identity, authorization, and integration backbone of our new platform.

For more than 25 years, our software has helped certification bodies, accreditation bodies, and scheme owners digitize complex assurance processes. Now we're building a modern, domain-driven software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform and transforming how our engineering organization works.

In this role, you'll design the identity, authorization, and multi-tenant model that every layer of the platform depends on. You'll also own the APIs and event layer that connect our product squads, new modules, and our established platform (IPF).

This is one of the largest transformations in our company's history. You'll join us early enough to shape not only what we build, but how we build it.

ARE YOU READY?

• Own the identity and authorization model, including the tenant, customer, organization, and role structure
• Run platform APIs as products: stable, versioned, documented in OpenAPI, and backed by service level agreements (SLAs) and deprecation policies
• Build the event and messaging library, database-backed at first and ready to swap for a message bus later, so IPF can publish events through SQL
• Design the compatibility and translation layer between IPF and new modules
• Ensure access control and tenant isolation for AI features

ARE YOU THE ONE?

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience designing and running authentication and authorization in production multi-tenant SaaS, using standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
• Experience designing fine-grained permission models, such as role-based or attribute-based access control
• Solid API lifecycle management, including versioning, OpenAPI specifications, and backward compatibility
• Experience building event-driven systems, with a solid grasp of delivery guarantees and patterns such as the transactional outbox
• Experience integrating legacy and new systems through translation layers or incremental replacement
• Strong backend engineering skills
• High ownership, low ego, and comfortable making architecture decisions under uncertainty
• Strong communicator who can explain technical trade-offs clearly
• Fluent in English; German is a plus

• Competitive salary: in Austria, the legally required minimum is € 64,554 gross per year (full-time), with willingness to pay more based on qualifications and experience; for other locations, in line with local market conditions
