Senior Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer | Wellington

Work across Azure, OpenShift and infrastructure automation in a hands-on engineering role.
We're looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join an established Wellington organisation, helping build, maintain and improve secure, scalable and reliable infrastructure platforms.

This opportunity is suited to an intermediate engineer looking to further develop their technical capabilities, although we're equally interested in experienced senior engineers with the right background.

About the role Working alongside an experienced technical team, you'll contribute to platform infrastructure, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building, maintaining and improving infrastructure across Azure and containerised environments.
• Developing infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Managing and supporting Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and GitOps deployment processes.
• Troubleshooting Linux and production infrastructure issues.
• Improving platform monitoring, security, performance and reliability.
• Contributing to platform upgrades, technical improvements and engineering best practices.

What we're looking for We're interested in hands-on engineers with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, automation and container orchestration.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Red Hat OpenShift.
• Infrastructure automation experience using Ansible, Terraform, OpenTofu or similar tools.
• Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Tekton, Argo CD or equivalent.
• Understanding of infrastructure security, monitoring and production support.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and a willingness to continue developing your technical skills.

You don't need to have worked with every technology listed. We're interested in engineers with strong technical foundations and transferable experience.
