We’re looking for a Senior Playworker to join our friendly team from January 2027. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves working with people, enjoys a bit of variety and wants to help make great things happen.

What does the role involve?

No two days at Thomley are quite the same! You’ll share responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site, taking turns as Duty Manager and working closely with the rest of our Service Team. You’ll help create brilliant play experiences, support and motivate our playworkers and volunteers, and make sure visitors feel welcome, safe and able to enjoy Thomley in their own way. You’ll also get involved in planning activities and events, supporting fundraising, developing ideas and helping the charity continue to grow.

About you

You might be an experienced playworker ready for your next step, a childcare professional looking for a change, or an education professional who’s wondering whether there’s another way to do what they love.

We’re looking for someone who:

-Has experience supporting disabled children or young people in a play or activity setting.
-Can lead, encourage and support a team, helping people do their best.
-Is confident managing day-to-day responsibilities, making decisions and dealing with the unexpected.
-Understands safeguarding, health and safety, and the importance of creating an inclusive environment.
-Is practical, adaptable and full of ideas – and can turn these into a great experience for our visitors!
-Shares our belief that everyone deserves the chance to play, participate and belong.
