Senior Powder Process Engineer Technology Specialist (Titanium Dioxide)

About the role

Lead the optimisation, scale-up and standardisation of critical post-processing operations for titanium dioxide and functional powder materials. The role converts laboratory and pilot-scale work into safe, stable and cost-effective industrial production while resolving process constraints at the manufacturing site.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise and control critical post-processing parameters for titanium dioxide and functional powder production, including ultrafine grinding, air classification, wet or dry surface coating, drying and packaging.
• Lead process design and on-site commissioning for new projects, taking conventional, functional and photocatalytic titanium dioxide products from laboratory and pilot trials through to tonne-scale industrial production.
• Diagnose and resolve production bottlenecks at the plant, including powder agglomeration, uneven particle-size distribution, non-uniform coating, poor dispersibility and excessive oil absorption.
• Develop core technology patents and contribute to Hontai Global Limited's proprietary intellectual-property portfolio.
• Release capacity limits, reduce energy consumption and deliver targeted modifications for key equipment, including jet mills, high-energy bead mills, large coating reactors and flash dryers.
• Create and maintain production SOPs, process cards and material-balance sheets to support stable, safe and repeatable process execution.

About you

• PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Colloid and Interface Chemistry, or a related discipline; exceptional master's-degree candidates may be considered.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on process engineering or production technology experience in titanium dioxide, inorganic pigments, ultrafine calcium carbonate, barium salts or other large-scale inorganic functional powder plants.
• Demonstrated R&D and/or production experience in photocatalytic materials, titanium dioxide modification or powder engineering.
• Industrial control of inorganic powder surface modification, including coating and encapsulation processes.
• Operation, parameter tuning and basic maintenance of industrial ultrafine grinding and precision air-classification equipment.
• Ability to read and improve basic process drawings, including P&IDs and equipment-layout drawings.
• Structured troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and on-site coordination in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience commissioning a new powder-material production line.
• Knowledge of photocatalytic materials and/or nanoscale powder-processing technologies.
• Practical, solution-oriented and comfortable working on the production floor with strong site coordination and technical communication skills.
