What they need
Senior Power Platform Developer (Remote – LATAM)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Power Platform Developer to design, build and support enterprise-grade solutions on Microsoft Power Platform. You will own solutions end to end: Dataverse data models, Canvas and model-driven apps, multi-stage approval workflows, deployment pipelines and Power BI reporting.
This role suits a developer with 7–10 years of relevant experience on long-term enterprise implementations, not short-term or purely low-code projects. You will work in a cybersecurity-focused environment, so strong security fundamentals and disciplined architecture are essential.
You will work independently, make sound architecture decisions without constant oversight, and advise stakeholders on Power Platform licensing and design. The position is fully remote for candidates based in Latin America.
What You'll Work On
- Smartsheet to Power Platform migration: move existing processes, sheets and data from Smartsheet into Dataverse, Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Approval workflows: design multi-stage approval processes in Power Automate that replace manual and spreadsheet-based steps.
- Apps for large user groups: build Canvas and model-driven apps that perform well and stay secure at scale.
- Reporting: deliver Power BI dashboards on top of the new Dataverse data.
- Platform guidance: advise the business on licensing, architecture and governance as the platform grows.
Key Responsibilities
Build
- Design and develop enterprise-grade Canvas and model-driven apps and Power Automate flows.
- Architect Dataverse data models, including complex relationships, normalization and performance optimization.
- Build multi-stage approval workflows with clear routing, escalations, error handling and audit trails.
- Plan and run migrations of processes and data from other platforms, starting with Smartsheet.
- Implement REST API integrations and custom connectors, including certificate-based authentication (mTLS).
- Build Power BI reports and dashboards on Dataverse data.
Deploy and secure
- Set up and maintain ALM: solutions, environment strategy and automated deployment pipelines.
- Apply security best practices: secure authentication, role-based access control, DLP policies and environment governance.
- Manage certificates securely, including storage, rotation and compliance.
Advise and support
- Advise stakeholders on Power Platform licensing, architecture options and trade-offs.
- Evaluate platform limits (delegation, performance, scalability, licensing) and design workarounds.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues independently and fix root causes.
- Document solutions, architecture diagrams and integration specifications.
- Work with cybersecurity, cloud and DevOps teams, and mentor junior developers.
Must-Have Requirements
- Dataverse and approval workflows: designing Dataverse data models and building multi-stage approval workflows in Power Automate.
- Canvas and model-driven apps at scale: building both types of apps for large user groups.
- ALM and reporting: setting up ALM and deployment pipelines (solutions, environment variables, Power Platform Pipelines or Azure DevOps), plus building Power BI reports.
- Platform migration: migrating existing processes and data from other platforms into Power Platform. Smartsheet migration experience is a strong plus.
- Licensing and architecture advice: advising stakeholders on Power Platform licensing (standard vs. premium, per-app vs. per-user, capacity) and solution architecture.
Additional Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of application development experience, with strong hands-on Power Platform expertise.
- Dataverse depth: business rules, calculated columns, plug-ins and performance tuning.
- Secure API integrations, including certificate-based authentication (mTLS).
- Strong knowledge of authentication (OAuth 2.0, Entra ID / Azure AD, certificate management).
- Power Platform governance: DLP policies, environment strategy and security controls.
- Experience in cybersecurity-sensitive environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex architecture and integration issues independently.
- Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills in English.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote team.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-400 (Power Platform Developer) or PL-600 (Solution Architect).
- Azure integration experience: Azure Functions, Key Vault and API Management.
- AI integration with Power Platform (AI Builder, Azure OpenAI or Copilot), such as AI-generated documents or presentations.
- Advanced error-handling frameworks for flows and integrations.
- Certificate lifecycle management and enterprise PKI.
- Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government).
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles.
- Spanish or Portuguese, in addition to English.
