Power Systems Engineer (RMS & EMT) | Secondment Opportunity | Perth

*This is a full time permanent opportunity, but will involve a 6 month secondment

We're partnering with a major WA network operator to bring an experienced power systems engineer into their connections team in Perth. Their Principal Engineers are currently carrying a lot of the PSCAD load themselves, so this is a chance to step in, add value from week one, and become a trusted part of the team.

What you'll be doing

You'll work across both RMS and EMT workflows on connection projects at every stage, from customer options reports and enquiry studies through to application assessments, GPS assessments and Access Offers.

On the RMS side, you'll run dynamic studies in PowerFactory supporting GPS, Access Offer and connection assessment work. On the EMT side, you'll deliver PSCAD studies including EMT1 (SMIB) and EMT2 (wide-area network) studies.

Why it's onsite

EMT work here is confidential and relies on close peer review and knowledge sharing, particularly for EMT2. This role is based in the team's Perth office, so remote delivery isn't an option.

What you'll bring

You'll have hands-on experience in both PowerFactory RMS and PSCAD EMT studies, ideally within an NSP, AEMO-style or connections environment. You're comfortable working with GPS requirements and connection processes, and just as importantly, you're someone a team can trust quickly and lean on from day one.

Initial 6-month secondment with a strong likelihood of extension.
