Title: Senior Process Engineer

Duration: 12 month contract with extensions

Location: Hybrid - Lebanon IN (15-20% onsite)

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of manufacturing, engineering, commissioning & qualification (C&Q), or related experience
• 5+ years of C&Q and/or facility startup experience
• Strong experience reviewing and approving C&Q documentation
• Experience supporting equipment commissioning, qualification, startup, and handover
• Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts during commissioning and qualification activities
• Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Automation, Technical Services, and contractors

Plusses:

• Chemical manufacturing experience
• Process Safety Management (PSM) environment experience
• Experience leading safety reviews including PSSRs and safety walkthroughs
• Experience with solvent and utility introductions during startup activities
• Strong background supporting automation-integrated process systems

Day-to-Day:

• Serve as the site technical representative for commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities, providing oversight from documentation review through final equipment handover and startup readiness.
• Review, approve, and provide technical leadership for C&Q documentation including test cases, IV/OV protocols, startup and shakedown procedures, Test Matrices (TMs), CLIAs, VRS/QRS packages, and discrepancy reports.
• Lead safety and operational readiness efforts by participating in mechanical completion walkdowns, Pre-Functional Testing Safety Reviews, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and approving commissioning LOTO plans.
• Provide field execution support during equipment setup, shakedown, commissioning, qualification, and process testing, while leading troubleshooting efforts and resolving technical discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Automation, and C&Q teams to coordinate schedules, support water and solvent introduction activities, drive daily execution planning, and ensure successful system startup and performance verification.

This individual will serve as the site's senior technical representative throughout the commissioning and qualification lifecycle, from documentation review through final equipment handover. The engineer will partner closely with commissioning providers, operations, technical services, and automation teams to ensure systems are safely commissioned, qualified, and released for production. This role requires a highly experienced process engineer with strong startup and C&Q expertise who can provide technical leadership, drive issue resolution, support safety reviews, and ensure all qualification activities are executed in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
