Rate: $60-$67/hr on W2(Negotiable based on expereince)

Description: Our client is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support the transition of products from laboratory development to mass production. The role focuses on designing, commissioning, and optimizing complex manufacturing equipment and automated systems to improve production efficiency, reliability, and process stability.

Responsibilities:

• Design custom manufacturing equipment for material preparation, cutting, inspection, bonding, and assembly.
• Lead equipment design processes, including requirements definition, specifications, concept development, and design reviews.
• Conduct proof-of-concept calculations, benchtop testing, and system-level design analysis.
• Improve equipment efficiency, manufacturing tolerances, process stability, automation, and machine reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Process, Software, and Operations teams to define and refine equipment requirements.
• Develop and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.
• Perform parametric modeling, tolerance stack-up analysis, statistical analysis, and root cause investigations.
• Select and manage external vendors for equipment components and subsystems.
• Document design decisions and ensure robust equipment design for scalable manufacturing.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 7+ years of industry experience.
• Experience designing and building complex industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong background in electromechanical systems and/or precision machine design.
• Knowledge of equipment design principles, design for manufacturing (DFM), and production-scale manufacturing.
• Experience with sheet metal, machined components, and welded assemblies.
• Familiarity with automation systems, control cabinets, industrial sensors, PLCs, data acquisition, and I/O devices.
• Experience with GD&T, SolidWorks, Product Data Management (PDM), and FMEA.
• Knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with metal additive manufacturing, robotics, or industrial automation.
• Hands-on prototyping experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, milling, lathes, laser cutting, and hand tools.
• Basic programming experience with Python, Linux, or PLCs.
• Exposure to fluid and gas handling, motion control, hydraulics, laser cutting, or vacuum systems.
