Senior Process Engineer - Dairy

We’re partnering with a leading food manufacturer to appoint a Senior Process Project Manager to deliver major process and capital projects across its US manufacturing network.

What makes this opportunity different is the level of in-house engineering ownership .

Rather than outsourcing the process design to an engineering consultancy and managing the project externally, you’ll be expected to develop the engineering solution yourself — taking a manufacturing challenge from concept and calculations through detailed process design, equipment specification, installation and commissioning.

The Opportunity

You’ll lead multimillion-dollar CAPEX projects designed to increase capacity, improve existing processes and introduce new manufacturing capability.

Your involvement will span the complete engineering lifecycle:

• Developing process concepts and engineering solutions
• Performing process calculations and equipment sizing
• Developing PFDs and P&IDs
• Specifying tanks, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, hygienic piping and other process equipment
• Building project scopes, budgets, schedules and CAPEX proposals
• Technically evaluating and selecting equipment and OEMs
• Managing contractors and vendors during execution
• Overseeing installation and integration into existing manufacturing operations
• Leading FAT/SAT, commissioning, start-up and ramp-up
• Troubleshooting process issues and handing completed systems into Operations

Projects will involve liquid-food processing technologies including pasteurization, homogenization, separation, standardization, fermentation and CIP systems .

What We're Looking For

The key is finding someone who has remained technically hands-on with process engineering while also delivering significant capital projects .

You’ll ideally bring:

• 8+ years within process engineering and/or capital projects
• Experience delivering multimillion-dollar CAPEX
• Strong sanitary/hygienic liquid-process design knowledge
• The ability to personally perform process calculations and develop engineering designs
• Experience developing and working with PFDs and P&IDs
• Strong knowledge of tanks, pumps, valves, piping and heat-transfer systems
• Experience taking projects from initial concept through commissioning
• Experience within dairy, beverage or another sophisticated liquid-food manufacturing environment
• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background

Direct dairy or cultured-products experience would be particularly relevant, but strong engineers from adjacent liquid-processing industries are encouraged to apply.

This isn't a traditional project-management position where the technical engineering is outsourced. It's an opportunity for someone who wants to remain an engineer first , while taking ownership of major capital projects from concept through operation.
