Senior Process Technologist

We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Technologist to join our Technology team in Rayong.

In this role, you will serve as a senior technical resource for our PLA/Lactide production processes, providing technical leadership in process safety, process optimization, reliability improvement, troubleshooting, and project technical assurance.

You will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Projects, HSE, QA/QC, RD&T, and other technical teams to strengthen plant performance, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to improve safety, quality, yield, energy efficiency, capacity, and operating stability.
• Provide technical leadership for process safety, including HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, PSSR, operating windows, alarms, interlocks/SIS, and safety-critical safeguards.
• Lead technical investigation and root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring process and equipment issues and drive sustainable corrective actions.
• Own and maintain technical standards, operating windows, process design basis, and technical content of operating procedures.
• Provide process engineering and technical assurance for projects from concept and FEED through commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and post-implementation review.
• Review and provide technical input to PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment datasheets, and technical bid evaluations.
• Support commissioning and start-up readiness and ensure technical acceptance criteria are met before implementation and handover.
• Collaborate with RD&T and global technology teams on new products, processes, trials, and technology improvements.
• Coach engineers, technologists, and operating teams in process troubleshooting, process safety, reliability, and technical problem-solving.
• Drive effective cross-functional technical decisions with Production, Maintenance, Projects, HSE, QA/QC, RD&T, and Supply Chain.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Process Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in polymerization, bioplastics, petrochemical, chemical, or related process manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, process safety, RCA, and reliability improvement.
• Demonstrated experience in process-safety activities such as HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, and PSSR.
• Experience supporting engineering projects, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing.
• Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of chemical/polymer processes and unit operations.
• Good knowledge of process design, PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, and equipment datasheets.
• Knowledge of process safety systems, including alarm management, SIS/interlocks, relief safeguards, and risk assessment.
• Strong analytical thinking and structured root cause analysis skills.
• Good understanding of relevant engineering standards such as API, ASME, and NFPA.
• Ability to analyze process data and translate findings into practical improvement actions.
• Experience with process simulation software is an advantage.
• Strong command of English, with the ability to communicate technical topics clearly across functions and with the global technology team at headquarters.
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, coaching, and technical decision-making skills.
