Crown Infrastructure Delivery (CID) is looking for a Procurement and Project Controls Specialist to provide expert procurement; commercial and project controls support across a portfolio of complex government infrastructure projects and programmes.

This is an opportunity for an experienced government procurement professional, Quantity Surveyor or commercial specialist to play a key role in delivering public value through robust procurement, financial management and project controls.

Who We Are

CID is a Crown‑owned company delivering complex infrastructure projects across New Zealand. We partner with government agencies to manage procurement, design, and delivery ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and with lasting value.

At CID, you’ll join a collaborative, forward-thinking team committed to excellence. We offer flexible working, professional development and the chance to make a real impact.

About the Role

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Supporting project financial management activities, including budgets, forecasting, commitments, payment assessments and commercial governance.
  • Contributing to project controls disciplines such as risk management.
  • Providing robust analysis, reporting and assurance to support informed decision-making.
  • Building strong relationships with government agencies, consultants, suppliers and project stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of CID's Project Support Office capability and best practice frameworks.

You will also be provided with opportunities to develop skills across the other Project Support Office areas.

What You’ll Bring

We're interested in hearing from people with experience in government procurement, quantity surveying, commercial management or project controls. Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience leading or supporting complex procurement processes within government, infrastructure, construction or professional services environments.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and public sector procurement practices.
  • Experience administering construction or consultant contracts, including variations, claims and commercial management.
  • A background in Quantity Surveying, commercial management, procurement, project controls or a related discipline.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with the ability to work confidently across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • Experience in project finance, cost management or project controls.
  • Risk management or quantitative risk assessment experience.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Membership of NZIQS or a relevant professional body

Why join us?

At CID, our values guide everything we do. You’ll be part of a supportive team that invests in your development and gives you the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that make a real difference.

What we offer:

  • Impactful infrastructure projects across New Zealand
  • A trusted, Crown‑owned organisation with a strong reputation
