Role Description The Senior Procurement Engineer (MEP) is a full-time, on-site role based in Giza, responsible for managing procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing materials, equipment, and services. This role involves reviewing project specifications and drawings, preparing material requisitions, and identifying qualified vendors and subcontractors that meet technical and commercial requirements. The Senior Procurement Engineer evaluates quotations, negotiates prices and terms, prepares purchase orders and contracts, and coordinates with engineering, construction, and planning teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project schedules. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring supplier performance, resolving delivery or quality issues, maintaining accurate procurement records, and contributing to cost optimization and value engineering efforts. The role also requires adherence to company policies, health and safety standards, and ethical procurement practices.

Qualifications

• Strong MEP technical background with experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, materials, and equipment for large construction projects.
• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain processes, including vendor sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiation, and contract administration.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards, and coordinate closely with design and site teams.
• Experience using procurement and ERP software, spreadsheets, and project management tools to track orders, budgets, and schedules.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail and cost-conscious mindset.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain are an advantage.
• Previous experience in a similar Senior Procurement Engineer or MEP procurement role within the construction or engineering industry, preferably on large-scale projects.
