Our Team

Within Semtech’s high-performance product portfolio, Lifecycle Engineering plays a critical role in ensuring that released products continue to meet the demanding expectations of global customers throughout their operational life.

This team operates at the intersection of Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Design, Quality, and Operations, focusing on yield improvement, sustaining engineering, manufacturing optimisation, and long-term product health.

Their work directly influences product performance, cost efficiency, and profitability across global manufacturing sites and supplier networks.

To support continued growth and operational excellence, we are strengthening our Lifecycle Engineering capability with an experienced Senior Staff Product Engineer.

Job Summary As Senior Product Engineer — Lifecycle Engineering , you will take ownership of sustaining engineering activities across mature, high-volume semiconductor products.

You will lead technical initiatives that improve yield, optimise test performance, resolve complex production challenges, and enhance manufacturing stability across the full product lifecycle.

This is a highly visible, hands-on engineering role where data-driven decision making, structured problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration directly contribute to engineering excellence and business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead yield improvement and margin optimisation initiatives across internal manufacturing sites and external suppliers (20%)
  • Own lifecycle engineering from production ramp through to end-of-life management, ensuring ongoing product health and stability (20%)
  • Investigate and resolve critical production issues impacting quality, yield, or test performance using structured methodologies such as 8D and CAPA (20%)
  • Partner with Test, Design, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to embed manufacturability, cost efficiency, and test optimisation into lifecycle activities (20%)
  • Apply statistical data analysis and continuous improvement practices to identify optimisation opportunities and influence data-driven engineering decisions (20%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5–8 years of experience in semiconductor product, test, or design engineering, ideally within sustaining or lifecycle roles
  • Strong experience in yield analysis, margin improvement, and cross-functional technical problem solving
  • Familiarity with ATE platforms such as Advantest or Teradyne, or equivalent bench test environments
  • Experience with statistical process control, data analysis, and design of experiments
  • Fluent professional English (written and spoken)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working across global manufacturing sites and supplier networks
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, JMP, Galaxy, dataConductor, or similar analysis platforms
  • Exposure to high-speed serial interfaces, video/datacom systems, or JEDEC/Mil quality standards
  • Strong documentation discipline and structured engineering approach
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced production environments with competing priorities

Why Join Us?

  • Work on products that have global impact across high-performance connectivity markets
  • Collaborate with experienced engineering teams across design, test, quality, and operations
  • Take ownership of initiatives that directly influence product performance, cost, and profitability
  • Thrive in a culture that values initiative, expertise, and continuous improvement

Career Growth Philosophy

At Semtech, innovation starts with people. We are committed to supporting professional development through mentorship, continuous learning resources, and a collaborative engineering environment.

Our performance-driven culture recognises meaningful technical contribution, encourages growth, and enables engineers to expand both their influence and expertise while shaping the future of Semtech’s product portfolio.
