Senior Product Manager, Simulation

Waymo’s Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo’s technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Director of Product Management.

You Will

• Define and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for Waymo’s AV simulator
• Work with cross-functional teams, including product managers, operations, system engineering and safety experts to define product requirements
• Collaborate with Engineering, Research, Systems Engineering, Safety, and Operations teams to gather requirements, align roadmaps, and ensure successful development and deployment of new simulation capabilities.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the simulator, identifying opportunities to improve realism and efficiency
• Partner with research to build and leverage large-scale foundation models in Simulation

You Have

• A BS degree in Computer Science, engineering, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of relevant product management experience, with a proven track record of owning and launching complex technical products.
• Strong technical acumen and demonstrated experience developing and launching AI/ML powered products, including familiarity with foundation models or generative AI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

We Prefer

• Experience working on simulation systems, robotics, autonomous vehicle technology, or game engines.
• Deep understanding of and experience in productizing AI/ML models, including large-scale foundation models.
• Knowledge of sensor simulation, synthetic data generation, or world modeling.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Salary Range

$241,000—$297,000 USD
