Senior Production Manager

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager to lead and oversee manufacturing operations within a regulated Life Science and Diagnostics environment.

The role is responsible for ensuring production objectives are achieved safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of product quality, regulatory compliance and operational performance. The successful candidate will provide leadership to the production team, optimise resources and processes, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support continuous improvement and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day production operations to achieve manufacturing output, yield, quality and delivery objectives.
• Ensure production activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, quality requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
• Plan and optimise manpower, equipment and production resources to support operational requirements and production schedules.
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow, yield, cost effectiveness and overall operational efficiency.
• Lead the investigation and resolution of production-related issues and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Collaborate with Quality, R&D, Engineering/Facilities and other relevant functions on production matters, process improvements and operational requirements.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of approved process, material and supplier changes in accordance with established quality and change-control requirements.
• Oversee equipment and facility requirements supporting manufacturing operations, including maintenance and calibration activities.
• Ensure production areas and activities comply with applicable quality, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and support the transfer and scale-up of new products and processes from development into manufacturing.
• Develop production leaders and team members through objective setting, coaching, training and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation initiatives across production operations.
• Support annual production budgeting, resource planning and capital or operational requirements.
• Manage production-related projects to ensure agreed objectives, timelines and budgets are achieved.
• Participate in cross-functional quality, safety and operational initiatives as required.

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant manufacturing or production experience, preferably within Life Science, diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, quality systems and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Experience operating within a regulated manufacturing and quality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage production output, yield, manpower and operational performance.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities with experience managing production issues and driving process improvements.
• Good understanding of equipment, maintenance and calibration requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Engineering/Facilities and other technical functions.
• Strong people leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Results-oriented, hands-on and able to manage multiple operational priorities effectively.
