Senior Program Manager

This is a contract position with hybrid onsite expectations in Salt Lake City or Atlanta.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Program Manager to join our Finance PMO team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating intricate, strategic programs that are imperative to organizational success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate loves leading projects and solving complex business problems, artfully balancing structure and drive with flexibility and agility. You are the person at the table who skillfully captures multiple perspectives, synthesizes input, and influences groups to align on next steps and decisions — all while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and own projects from initiation through execution, identifying risks and issues, facilitating mitigation plans, managing budgets, and scheduling timelines for timely implementation.
• Proactively build strong, trusted working relationships with Finance functional leaders and Business Technology partners to drive alignment and optimize project operations.
• Provide structure and guidance to lead, motivate, and hold accountable project team members while delivering on priorities.
• Drive and report progress against program objectives and goals, communicating status with a level of detail and format appropriate to the audience.
• Gain a deep understanding of business challenges and overall goals to steer working teams through complex issues.
• Demonstrate outstanding oral and written communication skills, including strong verbal presentation abilities, to influence and gain consensus across stakeholders.

Skills

• Expertise in project and program management methodologies, frameworks, and templates.
• Proficiency in program management tools such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheets, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional alignment across multiple departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and shared understanding of program objectives.
• Strong decision-making skills in complex program and project-related matters, with proven ability to evaluate strategic options, assess risks, and drive effective solutions.
• Deep understanding of governance management principles and their application to large-scale programs.
• Proven proactive thinking skills, including anticipating strategic challenges and developing contingency plans.
• Proven schedule development skills, including creating integrated master schedules and managing critical paths for complex programs.
• Ability to lead stakeholder engagement by building strong relationships, influencing key stakeholders, and managing expectations at all organizational levels.
• Solid understanding of strategic alignment and the ability to ensure programs directly contribute to organizational goals and strategic objectives.
• Experience collaborating across multiple layers of an organization with demonstrated success initiating change and influencing at all levels.
• Familiarity with Workday Finance and related applications.

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in project or program management, defining, launching, and iterating on impactful projects or programs.
• Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional programs with significant organizational impact.
• Experience working within a Finance or Finance PMO environment is strongly preferred.
