Senior Program Manager

Programme Manager - Broadcast/News Technology - £600-£650 per day Inside IR35 | 6-month contract | Hybrid

We’re looking for a technical Programme Manager to lead a major refresh of a broadcast news technology estate. You’ll take over a high-profile programme already under way and work with the current Programme Manager during a structured handover, so you start with full context and continuity.

The role

• Own end-to-end delivery of a newsroom technology refresh, from planning through go-live
• Run a programme made up of several workstreams across editorial, engineering and vendor teams
• Act as the link between newsroom stakeholders and technical teams, turning editorial needs into deliverable plans
• Manage vendor relationships, integrations and third-party dependencies
• Track RAID, budget and governance, and report progress to senior stakeholders
• Lead the transition from legacy workflows to a modern, cloud-based newsroom environment

What you’ll need

• Proven Programme Manager experience delivering news technology projects in a broadcast environment
• Solid technical grounding: you can talk confidently with engineers and architects about systems, integrations and cloud infrastructure
• A track record of complex, multi-vendor technology change in live, always-on newsrooms
• Strong stakeholder management with editorial, technical and senior leadership audiences
• Comfortable joining a programme mid-flight and keeping it moving

Desirable

• Experience with story-centric, cloud-native newsroom systems such as Saga (Fonn Group), or similar platforms
• Delivery across multiple platforms (linear, digital and social)
• Background in newsroom computer system (NRCS) migrations or MAM/production system rollouts
