Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline related to Advanced Process Controls (APC) for the Automation business area. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. The work model for the role is: Hybrid {#LI-Hybrid}

This role contributes to the Automation business area****in Chile.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead technical strategy for APC and Control Optimization projects from analysis to commissioning

• Analyze industrial processes and identify optimization opportunities

• Develop, configure and test advanced control strategies

• Integrate APC (Advanced Process Control) solutions with DCS, historians, OPC and other systems

• Support installation, commissioning and performance validation

• Mentor junior engineers

• Contribute to standardization and knowledge development.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Engineering background from the Automation & Control, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Metallurgic or Mining fields.

• Experience within the mining, pulp & paper or cement industries is highly preferred.

• 7+ years experience in APC, process optimization, or advanced control

• Deep knowledge of control strategies, such as Fuzzy Logic, MPC, Smith Predictor, Ruled Base, or similar

• Deep knowledge of DCS, PLC, OPC, historians, and/or control systems

• Experience with relational databases and SQL

• Strong technical troubleshooting capabilities

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Advanced or fluent English level, as well as fluent Spanish level.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience with process industries: mining, metals, cement preferred

• Knowledge of ABB platforms, 800xA, DCS systems

• Experience with model predictive control, advanced strategies

• Programming: SQL, Python, C#, VBA, JavaScript

• Project management experience

• Experience with commissioning and optimization
