Role Description The Senior Project Engineer MEP role is a full-time, on-site position based in Garland, TX. This role is responsible for leading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering aspects of building projects from concept through completion, coordinating closely with project managers, designers, and contractors. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing MEP designs, performing technical analysis and calculations, preparing and checking drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The Senior Project Engineer will oversee project planning, monitor schedules and budgets, manage design changes, and support construction activities through site visits, inspections, and issue resolution. This position also involves mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating project status and technical recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong project engineering and MEP project planning skills, with experience leading building systems projects from design through construction.
• Candidates should possess solid project management abilities, including organizing tasks, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining schedules and budgets.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess a foundation in electrical engineering, including design of power distribution, lighting, and related building systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline; professional licensure (PE) or progress toward licensure is preferred.
• Experience with MEP design software and CAD/BIM tools, as well as familiarity with applicable building codes and industry standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on-site, manage multiple projects, and solve complex technical problems with attention to detail.
• Previous experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities engineering is highly beneficial.
