Senior Project Engineer (Site Based)

We are seeking an experienced and practical Senior Project Engineer to provide technical engineering support and coordination across mine infrastructure and capital projects, working closely with design consultants, contractors and client technical teams.

About the Role

The Senior Project Engineer provides technical engineering support and coordination across mine infrastructure and capital projects, supporting the Project Manager and our site-based Project Superintendents.

The role will plan, monitor and report on infrastructure project engineering activities, working closely with design consultants, contractors and client mining engineering, geotechnical, survey and technical services teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, to scope, on schedule and within budget.

The role will play a key part in supporting underground mine infrastructure installation.

This is a site-based role on a 4 days on / 3 days off roster, requiring previous exposure to underground mine infrastructure.

The position includes a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience, including a 25% site uplift.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate mine infrastructure and capital project activities, including surface civils, ventilation, dewatering and underground infrastructure works.
• Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates and project schedules for mining infrastructure deliverables.
• Monitor project progress against schedule and budget and report variances to the Construction Manager or Project Superintendent.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure project designs align with the life-of-mine plan and are fit for purpose.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors and subcontractors engaged across project scopes.
• Identify and manage technical, schedule and cost risks associated with project delivery.
• Support integration of project outcomes into short and medium-term mine plans.
• Champion safe work practices and ensure project activities comply with the Company's safety management system and the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across mining engineering and project delivery.
• Prepare accurate, timely reporting for internal stakeholders, including regular project status updates.

About You

• Relevant experience in underground and/or open-pit mining and/or EPCM project engineering.
• Sound understanding of cost estimation, budgeting and project controls.
• Working knowledge of Western Australian mining legislation and WHS obligations.
• Proficiency with scheduling software, including MS Project.
• Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and Deswik.
• Strong safety leadership and a visible commitment to zero harm.
• Sound project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across disciplines.
• Analytical and problem-solving approach with sound engineering judgement.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mining, Civil or Mechanical, or a related discipline.
• Project Management certification advantageous.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• Construction White Card.
• WA Statutory Supervisor’s Certificate advantageous.
• Relevant mine site inductions and site-based competencies advantageous.
