Senior Project Engineer – (System Integration/ M&E/ Automation)

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to support the execution of Process Automation and Control System Integration projects. Working directly alongside our Senior Project Managers, you will serve as the technical and operational bridge between clients, engineering teams, site subcontractors, and equipment vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Scheduling

• Assist to maintain and update the project master programme (MS Project) and prepare schedule revisions
• Monitor progress against baseline and prepare S-curves and look-ahead schedules
• Track critical path, procurement cut-off dates and long-lead items

Progress & Commercial Support

• Prepare monthly progress claims (IPA / Joint Measurement Sheet) for Interim Payment Certificates
• Track BQ progress, variations and claim milestones against the contract
• Support cost monitoring, budget tracking and cash-flow forecasting
• Coordinate purchase requisitions and track procurement status with the Procurement team

Contract Administration

• Draft and track project correspondence, notices and letters to the client
• Support delay notifications, EOT submissions and delay analysis records
• Maintain the contract register, instruction log, variation log and scope tracking

Reporting & Meetings

• Prepare monthly progress reports, dashboards and management reports
• Organise and minute biweekly progress meetings and client coordination meetings
• Track action items, risks and issues through to closure

Document Control & Coordination

• Oversee the VDML / submittal register and track approval status with the client
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site and subcontractors to ensure deliverables are on time
• Maintain workshop, FAT and Testing and Commissioning (T&C) trackers against milestones

Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation & Control, or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of working experience in project execution, with at least 3 years in a project management or project control role. Background in SCADA, automation, M&E, or infrastructure projects (e.g., water, ports, airports) is preferred.
• Technical Baseline: Solid understanding of progress claims, BQ measurement, contract administration (PAM / CIDB / subcontract forms), delay/EOT processes, and variation management. (Advantageous)
• Tools: Proficient in MS Project (or Primavera P6) and advanced Excel for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
• Mobility: Possess own transport and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia for formal correspondence, coupled with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tight deadlines.
