This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee large-scale electrical projects, ensuring seamless system design, integration, and implementation. As a key leader within our project management team, you will drive project success by coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to electrical codes and safety standards. Your expertise will help deliver innovative control solutions that optimize building performance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of BMS/control systems projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and project objectives.
  • Oversee system design development, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings, ensuring compliance with electrical codes such as NEC and NFPA 70.
  • Coordinate construction schedules, manage project timelines, and monitor progress using project management software like Primavera P6 or ProCore to ensure timely completion.
  • Review construction drawings and schematics for accuracy, constructability, and adherence to project standards; facilitate design reviews with stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets by tracking costs, controlling expenditures, and performing cost estimates using HeavyBid or similar estimating tools.
  • Ensure all electrical systems are installed in accordance with local building codes, NFPA standards, and safety regulations; oversee permitting phases and inspections.
  • Lead project teams through the permitting process, site coordination, and commissioning phases while maintaining clear communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Conduct construction site visits to review progress, resolve issues promptly, and ensure quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage contract administration including scope changes, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and documentation to mitigate risks.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by enforcing compliance with OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards during all project phases.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing large-scale electrical projects within the construction industry, particularly involving BMS or control systems integration.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, system design processes, and construction management practices.
  • Strong familiarity with electrical building codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70 standards; experience with permitting phases is essential.
  • Proficiency in project management software including Primavera P6, Procore, Prolog or equivalent tools for scheduling and document control.
  • Skilled in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings; ability to interpret technical specifications accurately.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while managing project scope, schedule, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating between clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams; adept at negotiating contracts and resolving conflicts swiftly.
  • Construction site experience with a focus on electrical systems installation; familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance during all phases of work is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on time management to meet aggressive deadlines without compromising safety or quality standards.
