addition to core project leadership responsibilities, the SPM plays a pivotal role in developing future

project leaders, elevating project management standards, and reinforcing the culture and operating

rhythms of Project Delivery. This role requires an experienced, forward-thinking project leader who can

navigate significant technical, commercial, and contractual challenges, strengthen relationships with

clients and partners, and model the behaviors expected across Signal’s project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead full-lifecycle execution of large, complex EPC projects from NTP through final

acceptance.

  • Oversee multiple project phases concurrently, ensuring alignment with design

standards, construction best practices, schedule commitments, and commercial

requirements.

  • Provide strategic decision-making support to field teams and proactively resolve issues

to maintain project momentum.

  • Support Preconstruction through estimating, constructability reviews, procurement

strategy, and subcontractor evaluation for major scopes.

  • Safety & Quality Leadership:
  • Model exceptional safety behavior and ensure field teams uphold Signal’s safety

expectations without exception.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a transparent, corrective-action

culture around safety and quality.

  • Partner with Quality to ensure robust inspection processes, proactive issue resolution,

and adherence to specifications.

  • Financial Leadership & Project Controls:
  • Manage project budgets at an advanced level, including forecasting, cost trending,

margin protection, and commercial strategy.

  • Oversee contract administration and major commercial events, including claims,

notices, risk exposures, and change management.

  • Provide executive-level reporting on financial performance, risks, and variance drivers.
  • Schedule Strategy & Performance:
  • Lead strategic scheduling efforts, including development, monitoring, and mitigation

planning for complex, multi-phase scopes.

  • Ensure rigorous analysis of critical path, productivity trends, and recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling, Construction, and subcontract partners to maintain

milestone alignment.

  • Client & Stakeholder Leadership:
  • Serve as the primary strategic interface with clients, owner engineers, lenders, and key

stakeholders.

  • Anticipate client needs, maintain alignment on expectations, and elevate Signal’s

reputation for professionalism and performance.

  • Lead difficult conversations with poise and ensure transparent communication during

challenges or change events.

  • Team Leadership, Mentorship & Culture:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, APMs, PEs, and Field Engineers to build a

strong succession pipeline.

  • Reinforce Signal’s project delivery culture—accountability, proactive communication,

disciplined execution, and team cohesion.

  • Provide structured coaching, regular performance feedback, and development planning

for project delivery personnel.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and capability-building initiatives across the PM discipline.
  • Strategic Risk Management:
  • Identify, quantify, and strategically manage high-impact risks across technical,

commercial, schedule, subcontract, and safety domains.

  • Lead major risk reviews with senior leadership and ensure clear mitigation strategies

and follow-through.

  • Integrate lessons learned into future planning and mentor PMs on effective risk

leadership.

  • Reporting, Governance & Executive Communication:
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and executive-ready reporting on project progress, issues,

financials, and milestone health.

  • Lead internal and external project meetings with clarity, structure, and a focus on

accountability.

  • Support Project Delivery governance processes and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Primary Skills/Experience/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership of large-scale EPC construction projects, preferably utility-scale solar

or renewable energy.

  • Advanced knowledge of EPC execution, engineering workflows, procurement strategy, and

construction sequencing.

  • Mastery of financial reporting, cost controls, and commercial management.
  • Exceptional communication – verbal, written, and interpersonal – with strong client-facing

presence.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and mentor developing project talent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of ownership and initiative.
  • Proficiency in project management software (P6, MS Project) and financial systems.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, renewable energy, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience, with at least 3

years in a role leading complex or large-scale EPC projects.

Preferred Certificates/Licenses:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification.
