Senior Project Manager

Job Title: Senior Project Manager / IT Manufacturing Systems Lead

Location: North Chicago, IL (On-site)
Work Schedule: Ideally 5 days per week on-site; minimum 3 days per week required

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional to join our team in North Chicago. The ideal candidate will bring a strong execution mindset, a "bulldog mentality," and the ability to drive projects to completion in a structured, waterfall-based environment. Experience supporting IT systems within a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project activities using traditional waterfall project management methodologies.
• Drive project scope, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on project objectives and milestones.
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and proactively develop mitigation plans.
• Facilitate project status meetings and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including requirements, project plans, testing plans, and deployment schedules.
• Partner with business and technical teams to ensure solutions meet operational and business requirements.
• Support implementation, enhancement, and optimization of IT systems within manufacturing environments.
• Ensure adherence to organizational standards, processes, and governance requirements.
• Drive accountability across teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8-10+ years of experience managing complex IT projects.
• Strong experience working in waterfall project management environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven track record of driving projects to successful completion with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to work on-site in North Chicago a minimum of 3 days per week, with a preference for 5 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IT systems supporting manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems, or related manufacturing technologies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems, or related manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with POMSnet or similar manufacturing operations management systems is highly desired.
• Experience in regulated or highly structured environments.
• PMP, CAPM, or other project management certification preferred.
• Experience managing system implementations, upgrades, or digital transformation initiatives within manufacturing organizations.
