Senior Project Manager

Our client is a leading renewable energy company delivering a major utility-scale wind farm project in Australia.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to take a key leadership role in the delivery of the project, overseeing the integration and performance of the civil, electrical and mechanical Balance of Plant packages.

The role will be based from the Melbourne head office, with travel to site required as the project progresses.

This is an 18-month initial contract opportunity and would suit an experienced project leader who enjoys working across complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

The Role

• Lead the overall delivery of the project across the civil, electrical and mechanical Balance of Plant scopes.
• Provide strong project leadership across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, engineering teams and other key project stakeholders.
• Manage programme, budget, quality, risk, safety and project performance.
• Oversee interfaces between the various project disciplines and ensure effective coordination across work packages.
• Monitor contractor performance and drive delivery against key milestones and contractual requirements.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Lead project reporting, governance and performance reviews.
• Work closely with internal commercial, engineering, construction and development teams.
• Support the resolution of technical, commercial and construction-related issues.
• Undertake site visits as required and provide senior leadership and support to site-based teams.
• Ensure the project is delivered safely and in accordance with relevant standards, approvals and regulatory requirements.

You will be an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in major infrastructure, construction or renewable energy projects.

Ideally, You Will Have

• Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong multidisciplinary project management experience.
• Experience overseeing civil, electrical and mechanical Balance of Plant packages.
• A civil engineering or civil construction background is highly preferred.
• Experience managing major contractors and complex project interfaces.
• Strong commercial and contractual management skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, programmes, risks and delivery outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The ability to lead and influence multiple project teams and delivery partners.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced project environment.

This is a key appointment on a significant wind farm development and offers the opportunity to take ownership of a major project delivery function within an established renewable energy business.

You will have broad exposure across the project and the opportunity to work across the full Balance of Plant scope, rather than being focused on a single discipline.

The role offers a combination of Melbourne-based project leadership and regular site exposure, making it well suited to someone looking to take on a senior position within Australia's rapidly growing renewable energy sector.
