What they need

We design and build purpose-built hardware for the security and surveillance industry: video surveillance servers, network video recorders (NVRs), video management workstations, and mobile/deployable surveillance towers. Our products sit at the core of mission-critical video systems for enterprise, government, and critical-infrastructure customers.

POSITION SUMMARY

Owns project delivery for our Engineering and Product Development roadmap, from concept through new product introduction (NPI), production release, and end-of-life. You will turn the roadmap into executable, resourced plans, keep hardware, firmware, and software teams in lockstep, and give leadership a clear, honest view of schedule, cost, and risk. This role also leads a small project management team: a Project Manager based in our META (Middle East, Turkey & Africa) region and an Operations Project Manager who runs company operations projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering & product roadmap delivery

  • Translate the product roadmap into integrated project plans covering hardware, firmware/BIOS,
  • OS imaging, software/VMS integration, validation, certification, and manufacturing release.
  • Run a stage-gate / NPI process (concept → EVT → DVT → PVT → production release) with clear entry/exit criteria and gate reviews.
  • Build and maintain schedules, critical path, resource plans, and budgets; manage scope changes through a formal change-control process.
  • Coordinate component selection and long-lead procurement (CPUs, GPUs, drives, NICs, chassis, power supplies) with supply chain to protect launch dates.
  • Drive VMS partner qualification and certification cycles (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, and similar platforms) and track partner dependencies.
  • Manage regulatory and compliance milestones: FCC, UL/CSA, CE, RoHS, NDAA Section 889 and
  • TAA compliance, and export classification for international shipments.
  • Own risk and issue registers; escalate early with options, not just problems.
  • Lead engineering change orders (ECO/ECN), BOM revision control, and product lifecycle events
  • including component EOL and last-time buys.

Portfolio governance & reporting

  • Partner with the President and COO on approval of high-value projects: prepare business cases
  • with scope, cost, ROI, resourcing, and risk, and present recommendations for go/no-go decisions.
  • Stand up and maintain a project portfolio view: status, health, capacity, and priority across all active programs.
  • Deliver weekly status and monthly executive reviews with honest RAG status, earned value or burn metrics, and decisions needed.
  • Standardize PM templates, tooling, and cadence across engineering and operations.
  • Run retrospectives / lessons-learned and feed improvements back into the process.

Team leadership

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop two Project Managers: one in the META region (regional engineering/customer projects) and one leading company operations projects.
  • Set goals, review performance, and balance workload across time zones and project types.
  • Ensure regional and operations projects align with roadmap priorities and shared resources (engineering, production, supply chain).

Cross-functional partnership

  • Act as the delivery hub between Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing/Production, Supply Chain, QA, Sales, and Customer Support.
  • Partner with Product Management on roadmap trade-offs (scope, schedule, cost, quality) and launch readiness, including documentation, training, and support handoff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

  • 7+ years of project or program management, with at least 4 years on hardware, electronics, or IT infrastructure products.
  • Proven delivery of new product introductions through production release, including stage-gate or NPI processes.
  • 2+ years directly managing project managers or project coordinators.
  • Experience managing distributed or international teams across time zones.
  • Background in physical security, video surveillance, IT servers/storage, or systems integration.
  • Experience working with partners or customers in the Middle East, Turkey, or Africa.

Certifications / Licenses (if applicable)

  • Active PMP certification (PMI) in good standing.
  • Preferred: Industry credentials such as PSP (ASIS) or CompTIA Network+/Security+

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Advanced skill with PM tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or Monday.com) and reporting dashboards.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with executives, engineers, and external partners.
  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Arena, or similar) and BOM/ECO control.
  • Agile/hybrid experience (PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe) for firmware and software workstreams.
  • Working knowledge of NDAA, TAA, and export compliance for government and international customers.
