PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT The position holder will provide dedicated, on-ground support to our partner Bank in Abuja, to accelerate the implementation of agreed strategic and operational initiatives, strengthen portfolio performance, and ensure all recommendations translate into measurable business outcomes.

The resource will serve as a key coordination and execution point between the Bank and relevant internal functions, working closely with the Bank stakeholders to identify and resolve implementation dependencies, drive adoption capabilities, and maintain momentum across priority initiatives.

A key focus will be CS Implementation acceleration, particularly supporting the Bank in understanding the value, requirements, and implementation pathway for tokenization and other relevant solutions. The resource will help build stakeholder alignment, clarify implementation requirements, coordinate relevant subject-matter experts, and support the resolution of business and operational dependencies required to progress implementation.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Build strong relationships with the Bank and internal stakeholders, connecting the right functions and ensuring alignment on priorities and deliverables.
• Drive execution of recommendations, including tokenization, by identifying dependencies, removing blockers, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Apply strong knowledge of cards, payments, authorization, digital capabilities, and customer journeys to identify and address performance opportunities.
• Support credit card portfolio growth through customer journey optimization, campaign effectiveness, and implementation of initiatives that improve acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Proactively identify issues, coordinate solutions, track progress, and outcomes, and ensure all initiatives deliver measurable business impact for the Bank.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Strong understanding of the card and payments ecosystem, including credit cards, authorization, tokenization, digital payments, customer journeys, and portfolio management.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage complex initiatives end-to-end, including dependency management, stakeholder coordination, issue resolution, action tracking, and delivery against timelines.
• The ability to interpret portfolio, customer, authorization, and campaign performance data, identify key insights, and translate them into practical business recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
• Strong strategic and commercial mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to resolving challenges, driving adoption.

Mandatory Skills:

• 10+ years' experience in Project Management & Implementation Management (Project management certified preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Previous experience within Banking, Digital Payment & Card solutions, or the FinTech industry.
• Regional experience, including working in a faced-paced matrix organisation.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written, verbal, and presentation).

Preferred Skills:

• Good understanding of payment systems, digital platforms, system workflows, security basics, and industry technologies.
• An understanding of regional regulations across financial services or payment networks.
