Senior Project Manager (EU-funded projects)

Do you want to be part of a leading NGO with nearly 50 years of recognised services in the social sector? KMOP is looking for a Senior Project Manager for its Horizon Europe and other EU-funded projects in research, innovation and social impact. The role combines project leadership, partner relations and work on new proposals, and makes extensive use of AI-supported tools in everyday project work. It suits someone who enjoys people as much as plans, takes ownership, and likes trying new ways of working.

Responsibilities:

• Represent KMOP in selected new partnership and proposal-development discussions: Lead calls with prospective partners and coordinators, present KMOP's ideas and track record, and contribute to consortium building, working alongside colleagues responsible for proposal development
• Lead the delivery of KMOP’s contributions to several EU-funded projects in parallel, ensuring quality, timely deliverables and milestones, and compliance with the Grant Agreement. Where KMOP is the coordinator, oversee consortium-wide implementation, partner contributions and reporting
• Plan project resources and monitor budgets and workloads, working closely with finance and project teams
• Be the main contact for consortium partners and project officers: Run meetings, follow up on late inputs, and resolve issues before they escalate
• Represent KMOP with funders and stakeholders, online and in person, in Greece and abroad, including on calls with prospective partners for new proposals
• Manage AI-supported workflows for planning, monitoring, reporting and preparing outputs: Critically review their results and work with colleagues to help improve their reliability
• Handle project data and documents in line with GDPR, confidentiality and ethics requirements

Requirements:

• Academic background in social sciences, economics, public policy, European studies or a related field. An interdisciplinary background is an asset
• At least 4 years of experience managing EU-funded projects with international consortia, including coordination or work package leadership in Horizon Europe or Horizon 2020
• Working knowledge of EU grant rules, including lump-sum and actual-cost grants, amendments and periodic reporting
• Strong interpersonal skills: You build relationships easily, and you can also be firm when partners fall behind
• Ability to manage several projects at once, set priorities, and stay calm under deadlines
• Excellent English and Greek, and the confidence to present and lead discussions with international partners
• Confidence with digital tools and a genuine interest in using AI at work, with the judgement to check what these tools produce
