SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER / OPERATIONAL HEAD

About the Role

Amudha Civil Construction Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and highly responsible Senior Project Manager / Operational Head with 15+ years of experience in building construction to lead project execution and overall construction operations.

The candidate will be responsible for independently managing multiple projects from planning to completion, ensuring timely delivery, quality, cost control, safety and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and the ability to manage Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, contractors, vendors and consultants while providing regular MIS and operational updates to the Management.

The key objective of this position is:

“To ensure that projects are executed successfully without day-to-day dependence on the MD.”

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Project Planning & Execution

• Take overall responsibility for the execution of assigned residential and commercial construction projects.
• Prepare project execution plans, schedules and milestone programmes.
• Monitor projects from foundation through completion and handover.
• Ensure projects are completed within approved time, cost and quality parameters.
• Identify potential delays and implement corrective action immediately.
• Review project progress against planned schedules on a weekly basis.
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

2. Team Leadership & Management

• Lead and guide Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and site teams.
• Allocate responsibilities and establish clear accountability.
• Review individual project-team performance.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and project personnel.
• Ensure site teams take ownership of their responsibilities.
• Build a strong execution team capable of functioning independently.

3. Contractor & Labour Management

• Manage civil, MEP and other specialised contractors.
• Review contractor work programmes and manpower deployment.
• Ensure contractors achieve agreed milestones.
• Verify work measurements and stage completion before recommending payments.
• Monitor labour productivity and resource utilisation.
• Resolve contractor-related issues without unnecessary escalation to Management.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure construction is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and company standards.
• Establish and implement project-level QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections.
• Ensure proper workmanship and material quality.
• Identify recurring defects and implement preventive measures.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants and engineers regarding technical issues.
• Ensure snagging and rectification are completed before handover.

5. Cost Control

• Monitor project budgets and actual expenditure.
• Control wastage of materials, labour and other resources.
• Review project cost against approved estimates.
• Identify cost overruns at an early stage.
• Coordinate with Accounts & Purchase for project-related financial requirements.
• Ensure additional works and variations are properly documented and approved.
• Improve project profitability through effective resource and cost management.

6. Materials & Procurement Coordination

• Coordinate with the Purchase Team for timely availability of construction materials.
• Prepare and review material requirement schedules.
• Avoid project delays due to material shortages.
• Ensure materials comply with approved specifications.
• Monitor material consumption and wastage.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for critical materials when required.

7. Drawing & Technical Coordination

• Ensure latest approved drawings are available at the site.
• Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants and other professionals.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
• Obtain timely technical clarifications.
• Ensure site execution strictly follows approved drawings and specifications.

8. Project Schedule & Progress Monitoring

• Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules.
• Establish weekly and monthly construction targets.
• Conduct regular project review meetings.
• Track:
• Planned vs. actual progress
• Critical activities
• Delayed activities
• Manpower
• Material availability
• Contractor performance
• Cost status
• Quality issues
• Prepare weekly project progress reports for Management.

9. Safety Management

• Ensure implementation of construction safety procedures at all sites.
• Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices.
• Identify unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective action.
• Coordinate with site teams to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and safety requirements.

10. Customer & Handover Coordination

• Coordinate with the CRM and Management teams for customer-related construction matters.
• Support customer inspections and snagging.
• Ensure customer complaints related to construction are resolved promptly.
• Coordinate final inspection, documentation, rectification and handover.
• Ensure projects are handed over with proper quality and documentation.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
