Senior Project Manager - Web & Ecommerce

Title: Senior Project Manager - Web & Ecommerce
Location: NYC (Hybrid)
Reports To: Director of Client Partnerships or Director of Product Management

About thelab

We’re thelab: part creative studio, part production powerhouse, and all about solving real problems with smart, scalable solutions. From concept to commerce, we work with top-tier brands to create bold ideas and make them real across every touchpoint. We build things that move fast and scale smarter, and we have a lot of fun doing it.

We’re a team of strategists, creatives, devs, and doers who believe collaboration isn’t a buzzword; it’s our baseline. No egos. Just smart people making great work together.

The Role

We’re looking for a Web & Ecom focused Senior Project Manager to support client engagements focused on ongoing website performance optimisation and feature enhancements. The ideal candidate would have experience with managing and optimising medium to large scale e-commerce websites in a client-facing setting. This role will work closely with a team of engineers, UX/UI designers, SEO analysts, copywriters, and data analysts to manage client requests and identify opportunities to increase conversion rates across site features and marketing programs. If you’re someone who thrives in a creative and tech-driven environment, loves getting into the details, and knows how to keep everyone and everything on track, this could be the role for you.

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage custom and Shopify-powered web and e-commerce projects from kickoff to launch and strategic growth over time

Own project plans, timelines, resourcing, budgets, and day-to-day communications
Serve as the main point of contact between clients, developers, creatives, and strategists
Translate business goals and client feedback into actionable tasks and timelines
Collaborate with developers to scope technical features and functionality
Help review and test work before it goes out the door—no pixel or product tile out of place

• Communicate clearly, proactively, and with a sense of calm urgency, even when things change (because they will)

What You Bring

5-7 years of experience in web project management, preferably at a digital or creative agency

Hands-on experience managing Shopify projects (Shopify Plus is a big plus)
Familiarity with e-commerce flows, UX best practices, and web development processes
Strong communication and collaboration skills—you know when to escalate and when to dig in
Comfort working in various project management tools
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset—you anticipate blockers and solve them before they become problems

• A healthy respect for creative, strategic, and technical thinking—you know how to speak everyone's language

Nice to Have

Experience with headless Shopify or third-party Shopify integrations

Familiarity with platforms like Figma, Klaviyo, Gsuite, ticketing systems, and Project management tools

• Agency experience with multiple stakeholders or multi-brand portfolios

Why You’ll Love Working Here

A culture of creativity, collaboration, and zero ego

Projects that push boundaries, not just pixels
Work that blends brand, content, and commerce
Smart, supportive teammates who have your back

• Real opportunities for growth
