Senior Project Manager - Workday, Payroll, HCM

Our client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and support Payroll-focused Workday and UKG initiatives, ensuring successful delivery of enterprise HCM projects. This role partners with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors to drive project execution, testing, implementation readiness, and operational transition activities.

**W-2 only, no C2C *   This is onsite 2 days a week and remote 3 days.

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage Workday, UKG, and related Payroll work stream initiatives from planning through implementation

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, risks, issues, and action items

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, document decisions, and communicate project status updates

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, vendors, and implementation partners

• Support requirements gathering, testing, data validation, cutover planning, implementation, and post-launch stabilization

• Maintain project documentation, dashboards, RAID logs, and reporting materials

• Drive change management, training coordination, stakeholder readiness, and adoption activities

• Ensure project deliverables meet business, compliance, quality, and operational requirements

Senior Project Manager Requirements:

• Bachelors degree and 5+ years of project management experience supporting HCM, HRIS, ERP, or Payroll initiatives

• Experience managing complex, cross-functional Payroll or HCM projects with multiple stakeholder groups

• Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting

• Hands-on experience with Workday and UKG Payroll implementations, enhancements, or support

• Knowledge of payroll operations, HR processes, workforce management, and compliance requirements

• Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or Azure DevOps

PMP, Agile, SAFe, Workday, UKG, or related certifications are preferred
