Senior Purchaser

About the role

Senior Purchaser role involving team leadership, procurement operations, sourcing, tendering, vendor management, and cost-saving initiatives. The role requires managing end-to-end procurement activities, supporting junior team members, and acting as the first point of escalation for operational and vendor-related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Procurement Manager in managing daily procurement activities and ensuring timely PR-to-PO processing
• Support and guide junior team members on sourcing, negotiation, supplier issues, and procurement procedures
• Act as the first point of escalation for operational and vendor-related issues
• Monitor team performance and ensure compliance with procurement SOPs
• Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports, including cost savings, PR-to-PO cycle time, and supplier performance
• Monitor procurement KPIs and follow up on areas requiring improvement
• Manage end-to-end sourcing for MRO items, spare parts, industrial consumables, facility maintenance, and technical services
• Manage RFQ, RFP, tender exercises, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations
• Source, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers and contractors
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranty, and service agreements

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years in procurement or sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in MRO, spare parts, equipment, facility services, or technical engineering services
• Preferably 1–2 years of experience in a senior, team lead, or supervisory role
• Able to understand engineering drawings, machine parts, and technical specifications
• Experience in RFQ, RFP, tendering, supplier evaluation, and negotiation
• Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle and Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
