Senior Purchasing Executive

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing, cost efficiency, and supply chain performance.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality products, and favourable commercial terms.
• Plan and manage purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, kitchen equipment, and other operational supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast purchasing requirements, and coordinate with the Production and Warehouse teams to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
• Liaise with Production, Operations, and relevant departments to understand purchasing requirements and ensure the timely availability of materials.
• Conduct market research and monitor supplier performance, pricing trends, and new product opportunities.
• Prepare, review, and manage Purchase Orders (POs), supplier quotations, contracts, and procurement records.
• Manage the procurement budget, monitor purchasing costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with Company policies, food safety regulations, quality standards, and HALAL requirements.
• Lead, supervise, and coach the Purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance support.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Production, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, supplier performance, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the F&B or manufacturing industry.
• Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is preferred, as the role requires regular communication with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with inventory or ERP systems is an added advantage.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
