What they need
- Manage the full purchasing process, including sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase orders and delivery follow-up.
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Source products and services according to organisational requirements and budget.
- Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial terms with suppliers.
- Maintain good relationships with existing suppliers and continuously explore new suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, product quality, pricing and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure all purchases are properly documented and follow the organization purchasing procedures and approval requirements.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up on outstanding orders, deliveries and discrepancies.
- Verify invoices, delivery orders and related purchasing documents before submission for payment.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and price comparisons.
- Assist in monitoring inventory and replenishment requirements where necessary.
- Handle purchasing-related issues, including defective goods, delayed deliveries and supplier disputes.
- Prepare purchasing reports and provide management with updates on procurement activities and costs.
- Ensure purchasing activities are conducted professionally, ethically and in compliance with organisational policies.
- Perform any other purchasing or procurement-related duties assigned by management.
