Senior Python Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Automation Test Engineer with 8+ years of experience in software testing and automation. The candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Python, Pytest, API Testing, HTTP protocols, SOAP Web Services, and Linux.

The role involves developing and executing automated test scripts and performing functional, integration, and system testing while collaborating closely with development and QA teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Python and Pytest.
• Design and execute test cases for functional, integration, and system testing.
• Perform API testing and automate API test scenarios.
• Test and validate APIs using HTTP protocols, including methods, status codes, headers, and request/response payloads.
• Perform testing of SOAP Web Services and validate SOAP requests and responses.
• Execute and troubleshoot automated test scripts in Linux environments.
• Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Perform regression testing and ensure application quality across releases.
• Prepare test cases, test data, execution reports, and defect reports.
• Track defects through the complete defect lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in test planning, test execution, defect reviews, and release activities.
• Develop reusable and maintainable automation scripts to improve test coverage and efficiency.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Test Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong experience with Pytest.
• Good understanding of HTTP Protocol.
• Hands-on experience in API Testing.
• Hands-on experience with SOAP Web Services.
• Good working knowledge of Linux.
• Experience in Functional, Integration, and System Testing.
• Ability to develop and maintain automation test scripts.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with Postman, SoapUI, or similar API testing tools.
• Knowledge of JSON and XML.
• Experience with Git/version control.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated regression testing.
