Senior Python Developer

​We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join a major European Transmission System Operator at the heart of the energy transition. You will help architect, develop, and scale internal monitoring and alerting platforms critical to maintaining operational reliability across the energy grid.

​What You’ll Do
​Core Development: Architect and maintain resilient Python-based backend services, synthetic/log checks, and automated alerting systems.
​Technical Leadership: Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical best practices (CI/CD, testing, clean code).
​Collaboration: Partner with Data Engineers, Architects, IT Operations, and Product Owners within an agile environment.
​Modernization: Troubleshoot complex performance issues, build for scalability, and contribute to legacy code refactoring initiatives.

​What We’re Looking For
​Experience: 6+ years in software development, with 3+ years dedicated to Python.
​Backend Stack: Strong expertise in FastAPI (or similar frameworks), AsyncIO, and Pydantic.
​Databases & Messaging: Solid experience with SQL (MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and RabbitMQ.
​Architecture: Firm grasp of event-driven architectures, service-based systems, design patterns, and critical infrastructure security standards.
​Testing & Tools: Test automation experience (e.g., Selenium) and familiarity with CI/CD deployment pipelines.
​Languages: Fluency in English AND either Dutch or French (German is a plus).
​Education: Academic degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in IT/Computer Science or a related field.
​Nice-to-haves: Experience with Azure Cloud, Docker/containerization, and NoSQL databases.

Pay: €2.689,99 - €5.307,36 per month
