Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer – Data Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience in backend development, SQL, database management, API development, and backend architecture.

The role focuses on developing scalable backend services, optimizing database performance, building REST APIs, and implementing reliable data-processing workflows. Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and backend system design is required.

This is a backend-focused position emphasizing data processing, database operations, and system architecture rather than frontend development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Build, integrate, secure, and optimize REST APIs.
• Develop backend solutions using Python and other relevant technologies.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, joins, aggregations, stored procedures, and database structures.
• Work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL based on project requirements.
• Design backend architecture and contribute to system-design decisions.
• Develop data-processing, data-integration, and backend workflow solutions.
• Integrate third-party APIs and internal services.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, database, and production issues.
• Write clean, secure, tested, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, testing, and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and other teams.
• Take ownership of technical tasks from planning through delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on programming experience with Python.
• Experience with backend technologies such as TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Strong SQL knowledge, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Practical experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or MySQL.
• Understanding of backend architecture, system design, and scalable application development.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Knowledge of API authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth, and secure coding practices.
• Experience with ORM frameworks and database integration.
• Understanding of data processing, data integration, and database management.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and technical ownership.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Rust.
• Knowledge of .NET, C#, .NET Core, or ASP.NET Core.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or Azure App Services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.
• Experience with MongoDB.
• Basic knowledge of React.js; frontend development is not a primary responsibility.

Candidate Profile

Candidates should have a strong foundation in backend engineering, practical SQL expertise, and experience developing reliable, scalable backend services.

Candidates with strong Python, backend development, database management, and system-design skills are encouraged to apply. Experience with .NET/C# is an added advantage but is not mandatory.
