Senior Python Engineer | Commodities Trading | Hong Kong

Embedded within a leading commodities trading desk, you'll work closely with traders and researchers to build the data platforms, analytics tools, and AI-driven workflows that power research generation and market insights. This is a highly commercial, front-office role offering significant ownership, visibility, and direct interaction with the business.

What You'll Do

• Build and enhance Python-based research, analytics, and data platforms used directly by the trading desk.
• Partner with traders and researchers to turn ideas into scalable production solutions.
• Develop tools that improve data analysis, research workflows, and decision-making.
• Leverage AI and LLM technologies to increase productivity and research efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams across a global trading organization.

What We're Looking For

• 5-8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills and experience building production systems.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and a quantitative mindset.
• High levels of ownership, initiative, and commercial awareness.
• Comfortable working closely with business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are advantageous but not essential.
