At Soul Coffee Company (Pvt) Ltd , we are looking for a passionate and technically capable Senior Executive – QA & R&D to support our Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Product Development, and Innovation functions.

This role is ideal for a professional with strong experience in food quality systems and product development who can work closely with Production, Sales & Marketing, Procurement, and other teams to maintain quality standards and bring innovative products to market.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve Food Safety, QA, HACCP, GMP, and quality management systems .
• Conduct inspections, internal audits, quality checks, and process monitoring across manufacturing operations.
• Manage quality documentation, specifications, testing records, traceability, and audit requirements.
• Support and lead new product development , including product trials, recipe development, process optimization, packaging, and commercialization.
• Evaluate raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials for quality, safety, sustainability, and cost effectiveness.
• Maintain product specifications, recipes, work instructions, trial reports, and technology transfer documents.
• Support regulatory compliance, product labelling, certifications, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Promote Safety, Health & Environment and 5S practices across manufacturing operations.
• Conduct training and provide technical guidance to employees on food safety, quality, hygiene, and operational standards.
• Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, customers, auditors, and regulatory authorities on quality and technical matters.
• Provide management with regular updates on quality performance, R&D activities, audit findings, and improvement opportunities.

** Requirements**

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, or a related field .
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in QA, Food Safety, R&D, or Product Development, preferably in Food & Beverage, FMCG, or Manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Food Safety, Quality Management Systems, and internal auditing .
• Practical experience in product development, trials, quality investigations, and process improvement.
• Knowledge of Sri Lankan food safety, regulatory, and labelling requirements.
• Experience with ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, or similar standards will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Passion for coffee, product innovation, quality, and continuous improvement will be highly valued.
