Recently, Jodo launched Collect, a recurring payments app for non-educational businesses. In just a few months, Collect has seen strong traction, with thousands of merchants across multiple industries using the app to automate collections and manage customer dues.

Role Overview This role brings an automation-first mindset to quality: if a check needs to run more than once, it belongs in an automated suite. You’ll pair Playwright automation with sharp functional and exploratory testing, own test planning and release validation, and ensure business flows, edge cases and integrations behave correctly across environments.

What You’ll Do Functional and Manual Testing l Perform thorough functional, regression and exploratory testing of web and backend-driven applications.

l Validate end-to-end business flows, including edge cases and failure scenarios.

l Ensure correctness of payment flows, settlements, retries and state transitions.

Test Planning and Execution l Create detailed test plans, test cases and test scenarios based on product requirements.

l Participate early in requirement discussions to identify risks and ambiguities.

l Maintain clear documentation of test coverage and execution status.

Release Validation l Own release-level testing and sign-off in collaboration with product and engineering.

l Validate fixes, enhancements and hotfixes before production rollout.

l Run automated smoke and sanity suites across environments.

Defect Management l Identify, log, track and verify bugs with clear reproduction steps.

l Work closely with engineers to validate fixes and prevent regressions.

l Ensure issues are triaged and prioritized correctly.

Collaboration and Communication l Partner with product managers to understand expected behavior and business rules.

l Collaborate with engineers to clarify requirements and improve testability.

l Act as the voice of quality during development and release cycles.

Automation and Improvement l Automate repetitive and regression flows with Playwright (JavaScript/Python), partnering with SDETs on the framework.

l Improve test coverage, test data management and testing efficiency.

l Contribute to improving QA processes and standards.

Experience What You Bring l 3+ years of experience in software testing or QA roles.

l Experience testing web applications, mobile apps and backend-driven systems.

Testing Skills l Strong understanding of manual, functional, regression and exploratory testing.

l Experience writing clear and structured test cases and scenarios.

l Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g. Jira or similar).

Automation-First l Hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and end-to-end test automation.

l Working knowledge of JavaScript and Python for writing and maintaining test scripts.

Domain and Technical l Basic understanding of APIs and backend systems.

l Ability to validate data using databases (basic SQL knowledge is a plus).

l Exposure to payments or financial systems is a strong plus.

Tools and Process l Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

l Familiarity with test management tools and release processes.
