Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer who is passionate about building enterprise-grade software with exceptional quality standards. This is not a traditional QA role focused solely on executing test cases. We are looking for someone who can own quality throughout the software development lifecycle, challenge engineering teams, identify risks early, improve testing processes, and help deliver highly reliable software.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience testing complex web applications, REST APIs, backend services, workflows, role-based systems, and enterprise SaaS platforms.

What You Will Do

• Own end-to-end quality for assigned product areas from requirements through production readiness.
• Review business requirements, technical specifications, API contracts, and acceptance criteria before development begins.
• Identify functional gaps, edge cases, missing requirements, and quality risks early.
• Design comprehensive test strategies for new features and platform enhancements.
• Create and maintain detailed test cases covering:
• Functional testing
• Regression testing
• Integration testing
• End-to-end testing
• API testing
• Security validation
• Boundary testing
• Negative testing
• User acceptance support
• Execute manual testing while identifying opportunities for automation.
• Validate REST APIs using tools such as Postman or equivalent.
• Verify data integrity between frontend, backend, and databases.
• Perform cross-browser and responsive testing.
• Validate complex workflows across multiple user roles and permissions.
• Investigate defects thoroughly and provide high-quality bug reports with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Database Engineers, Designers, and other stakeholders to drive issue resolution.
• Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ensure defects are tracked, prioritized, retested, and verified before release.
• Drive continuous improvements to QA processes, documentation, and release quality.
• Support release readiness activities and production validation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• ISTQB certification is a plus.
• Experience working on enterprise software products is highly preferred.

Pay: ₦800,000.00 - ₦1,300,000.00 per month
